Are there any established meet-ups in the Portland / LA / Topsham - Brunswick area? If not, I'm wondering what the interest might be here. I'm thinking mostly flat water, out and back. Weekend morning or weeknight after work over the summer months. I fairly regularly paddle on the Cathance, Androscoggin (Brunswick and LA), Royal River, and Runnaround Pond. I'm thinking it would be a chance to paddle different boats, work on paddle technique, engage new members, find paddling spots, etc. Here's some other resources that I feel like MACKRO could emulate: www.mncanoe.org/content.aspx?page_id=22&club_id=709151&module_id=95909sccmarathon.weebly.com/about.html

Hi Chris -
I just moved home to Maine after 5 years in Montana. I live a mile from the Bowdoinham landing and regularly paddle the Cathance. I'm not currently set up with a C1 flatwater boat, so the higher sides of my WW C1 force me to "train" when the wind permits. I'd be interested in something more routine, if a group ends up getting together. I know a few other paddlers in the area...I'll start spreading the word too.
What's your quiver look like? Do you have a C2 flatwater boat? If so, let's get out for a cruise soon.

Hi Logan, I've got three serviceable boats. A discovery 158 that I've set up for solo downriver. A 18'6" fiberglass tripper and a family heirloom old town which is more of a dock-queen. I'm looking to get a faster c1, but I'm still looking for the right boat.
