Hi Everyone - As we now transition to preparing the local paddlers for the nationals in July, I'll be hosting two public practice sessions each week. One will be Tuesday early evening and will take place at one of the nationals rapids. The goal each Tuesday will be to take at least two runs through a single rapid in order to learn one line through it well. The other practice will be a run of the full racecourse (Old Town to Veazie) on either Saturday or Sunday, typically scheduled in the morning with the day being chosen based on the weather forecast.
All practices of this sort are open to the paddling public and are "hosted" by me through MaCKRO. All adults and kids possessing at least some fundamental whitewater skills - you're all welcome to participate. Come learn the rapids of your home river and plan to compete on them at the nationals from July 6 to 10.
Tuesday, 5:00-6:30, Basin Mills, Orono Park out of the way at the power station at the junction of Water Street and Broadway. I'll drive the trailer down IF there's enough interest (contact me in advance and help load your boat on). Get down there before 5:00 to inflate your airbag and ready the equipment. I'd like to kind of be ready to launch at 5:00.
The announcement for the weekend's full run will come later in the week.
Paddle On! Jeff
