I'm starting this thread as a place to post information on who is paddling when, and also for paddlers to ask questions about the river.
A group (now up to 4) is planning to paddle the river from Old Town to Eddington tomorrow beginning at about 5pm.
Because of the relatively late afternoon start, I'd ask that anyone else joining us tomorrow have some experience on this river. We'll also plan some weekend or earlier in the day runs that might be better suited to first-timers.
"Training run" is probably a misnomer. Our goal tomorrow is to have fun, try some new lines, and get more familiar with the river.
If anyone is interested in joining in, you can let us know right here.

Jeff, are you running the Penobscot on Saturday? We're thinking of running it tomorrow afternoon but may hold off until Sat. If others are going then.
If anyone is free to run it tomorrow afternoon, let us know that as well.

I would like to see the river with Maine friends this Saturday with the group Jeff is organizing. I have a tandem boat here but not a partner until later. Would join another paddler or borrow a solo boat. Dan Jones, Pennsylvania Paddler

Dan - Bring your tandem boat and show up at 8:30. Such things typically work out and if a partner doesn't emerge a solo boat might. It's worth a shot! Just bumping this to the top. Should be a great day on the river. Bring some grub for the potluck afterwards, and your bathing suit, too, to enjoy the Stillwater in the afternoon. See you in the morning!! Twenty boats enjoyed the Regatta's racecourse yesterday. It was a beautiful day on the river. And, breaking news, there are now over 100 paddlers registered for the event!! Another group is paddling the racecourse today (Sunday), meeting at the park in Old Town at noon. Just bumping this to the top. Should be a great day on the river.
