Larry Merrill is organizing the 2nd Annual Muskrat Scramble which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, starting at 1:00. Out and back course starting at dam just beyond Bob's Kozy Korner store on Brewer Lake Road in Orrington, which is at intersection with Johnson Mill Road. About 4 miles on Sedgeunkedunk Stream, which is winding with no rapids and negligible current. No entry fee, beginners welcomed, modest prizes given.
This is fun late season race that gives paddlers one last chance to race before winter sets in.

The race will also have a 2.5 mile course. As has been mentioned, beginners are welcome and boats can be loaned to beginners if advanced notice is given to Larry Merrill. His e-mail is: lawmerr@gmail.com Larry Merrill is graciously putting on this race with no entry fee. Let's reward him with a big turnout! Think of it as the first warmup race for the Kenduskeag. ;-)

This was one of Earl Baldwin's frequent paddled areas especially late in the season. So an added incentive and/or challenge would be to get as many Baldwin boats to participate in the race. Flatwater or down river, dig out your Badlwin boat and let's see how many we can get on the water on the 9th!
