Sunday the 25th, Jeanie and I put in at the Englewood Cliffs park in N.J. and paddled down the Jersey side of the Hudson. We rounded the Battery an hour later than we planned and ran into some exciting currents as we made our way up the East River. Big current. Big wakes. Big waves and chop. Whitewater experience required! We Paddled our trusty Sawyer Charger with Cook custom cover. It kept lots of water out when we punched into large steep wakes. A beautiful day. The current was with us all the way. It took us less than 90 minutes to make it from the Battery to Hell Gate. That is with many "stops" to deal with huge wakes. Didn't see another canoe all day! Ha! We are planning to do it again. George Attachments:
