Where is the finsh for the Passy Race? I raced last year but only got to see the start! Is there a good place to park? Thanks in advance.

The finish line for the Passy Race can be accessed from the Shepard Road in Belfast. Once you turn onto the Shepard Road from Route 7/137, head west apx. one-half mile to where you see a big lawn area with some trees and no houses on the right. You can park your car along the road and walk to the river. The level of the Passy is lower than you might guess, given the recent rains. This is likely due to a temporary dam being used to hold water back so that we'll have plenty of water on Saturday. This is likely due to a temporary dam being used to hold water back so that we'll have plenty of water on Saturday. ... So taking all that into account, what level should we expect for Saturday? More than in 2011? The Ducktrap seems to be about average now, with presumably no rain on the way.

Between warmer daytime temperatures in the next few days, a chance of rain on Friday, and the dam release I am hopeful we will end up with a medium water level for this race.
No way will it be as low as 2012. 2011 is a little fuzzy in my mind but I think we might see a little more water than that year as well. Winning time that year was 45 minutes. I'll go out on a limb and say there will be enough water for a winning time under 44 minutes. Kevlar or ABS/plastic? I'm betting the kevlar boats will be able to get down with just a few bumps on the rocks.
Leslie and I ran the Passy yesterday. It was low but not horribly low --- you could get by with just a few scrapes.

Passy Clinic CANCELED for Friday due to lack of water. There will be more water for the race Saturday, 5 or 6 inches higher when the dam is released. See you Saturday.

We ran the Passy again today. Despite the fact that the dam is still in place, you can still get down through. Tomorrow, with six inches added to the level, should be lots of fun! Hope to see y'all there!
