With the current temps making us all "think spring", it's high time to knock the dust off the gear and get out on the water.
Anybody run anything yet? Did some scouting around the St. George this weekend and although it looks low for this time of year, we didn't see much of any ice left.
So let us all know. What's open? Where's the water?
Thanks in advance.

A group will paddling on the Kenduskeag tomorrow The YMCA outdoor paddling group and whoever else shows up. We have about 12-15 so far. Plan to meet at 2 pm at Bulls Eye Bridge (Griffin Rd). We will determine the run at that time. If there is no ice below 6 mile falls we will put in there (Some ice present as of Thursday - could be gone by Sunday) If there is ice we will put in at Bulls Eye. Take out at Valley Ave park Will consider portages to continue to downtown depending on water level and abilities of group

I scouted a few places on the Kenduskeag Saturday and it definitely looked like spring. In fact, it might be nice to have a bit more water. I took this picture of the Shopping Cart drop. Hope we get some rain in April.

We paddled the Passy on Friday. It was "passable" but not by much. A geologist would find lots of interest!
We're gonna need a rainy spring if we're gonna be happy. Rain at night three times a week would be about right.
The St. George is likely higher and holds its level better, I hope to get out there soon and will post an update here when I do.

We ran the St. George race course last Saturday afternoon. Much like Ray said about the Passy, water level was passable but very low (and slow) for this time of year.
No new strainers or anything to contend with, just the occasional bumps and scrapes in the shallows from the Ghent Road bridge down.
I'm doing a nightly "rain dance"...hoping some of you are joining in.
