Aroostook River 30 Mile Canoe & Kayak Race

The Aroostook River 30 Mile Canoe & Kayak Race will be on May 14th, 2011. We have changed locations for this years race, the race will begin at the Presque Isle Public Boat Lauch Site, race down the river to Caribou, Maine and portage around the Caribou Dam. Then continue to the boat landing located just past the bridge in Fort Fairfield.

The race this year will begin at 9:00am, Registration will be from 6am - 8:00am at the Hayward-Frazier VFW Post 2599.

Breakfast will be located at the Hayward-Frazier VFW Post 2599 located in Presque Isle. This is close to the starting point and we believe transportation between the two towns will be more economical for the race teams. Plenty of parking at the VFW Post if you plan to leave your vehicle there.

The race committee is working hard in getting things ready for this year's race. The water level is going to be really good we are expecting to have a lot of rain in the next few days and unless we get a long dry spell, we should have plenty of water.

Registrations are coming in slow so hopefully we will get more in the next couple of weeks. Hope to see everyone at the races this year, we understand fuel prices are high, but we think this will be a great race this year.
