New to the area, looking for folks to paddle with

Probably a long shot, but hey, I'm new here and I don't have anyone to paddle with. I caught the tail end of the St. George River race over the weekend (as a spectator only) and it was awesome! I would love to paddle it sometime soon. I'm located mid-coast near Belfast. Most of my gear is still down south, but I did manage to bring my ducky and everything else I need to get on the water.

I've got plenty of experience in a tandem canoe (although I'm more often in a solo open boat for whitewater). I'm very comfortable in a raft as well and gladly guide on rivers I'm familiar with, but that's the thing... I don't know anything about rivers around here.

I'm welcoming advice on where to go, what to look out for, leads on paddle trips etc. In general, I'm looking to meet some fellow paddlers. Hopefully, I've come to the right place

Thanks Ray. I don’t really use Facebook, but I suppose this is a worthwhile exception. Appreciate the tip on PPCS too. That looks like a great resource.
