I noticed on the Mackro home page the story about a new all-time record being recorded by a four-person canoe--1:32:14. Very fast! BUT I knew that over the years (when this race was mainly a kayak race due to possible very rough conditions), there had been a few times around the 1:30s. I was feeling pretty smug when I found that I had done a 1:30:54 in a K1 in 1989--until I found that Kenny Cushman had done a 1:28:43 in 1996 using an olympic K1. So, anyway--that recent excellent time by the four-person canoe is good for third fastest ever.

Thanks, Fred! It's good to have the historical context available. Sounds like 3 very fast times to me!
