Has anyone ever done flatwater time trials with the Penobscot 17 AND the Penobscot 18' 6"?

Not many people volunteering info on this topic . . .
Anyone know of a person who might be able to have such a discussion with me?

Fred, I don't know that anyone conducted a Ludwig Scientific quality time trial of these boats , but consensus and race results seem to bear out that the 186 is faster than the 17 Definitely drier in waves and drops. The Sundowner 17 may be in between. Now, I think the two smaller boats may be better for a smaller, lighter team. I seen in races where the Sundowner gained on the 186 in fast water. Because of the bigger hull I think the 186 does well in shallows since it draws less water, as long as you can fit it between the rocks!
It's like the debate over which Pro boat design is fastes: depends on the kind of water, the paddlers, etc.
