The Souadabscook Stream races scheduled for Saturday will be held as planned with a few minor adjustments:
Sprint races will run as in the past starting at Manning Mill bridge, finishing at Papermill bridge. Registration at 8 AM at the Mysterious NeckTie Grange Hall on Emerson Mill Rd. for both Sprint and Downriver races till 10AM Sprint race starts at 9AM.
Registration for the Downriver races continues at Vafiades Landing on the Bog Rd, Hermon at 11 am.
The Downriver Race includes a new format for novices. The 3.5 mile Novice race will start at Vafiades Landing with all other Downriver classes at 12 PM. The Novice classes will finish just above the 'Boy Scout' ledge drop at YMCA Camp Pierce-Webber on river right. The novice course will include one rapid - Manning Mill which can be easily scouted from the Manning Mill bridge. This rapid is an easy class II at this level.
The 4 mile Downriver race will continue to a finish at Papermill Bridge before the Grand Falls portage. The rapids and drops are low and scratchy but easy and runnable. Emerson Mill is an optional portage.
This is a great easy, level for aspiring WW paddlers ready to expand their WW horizons. Bring an older that you don't mind getting scratches on. You can leave the bailer at home.
